Intrinsic sugars rate of absorption
Claim made by: Prof Jim Mann via the World Health Organisation

Claim: "These do not include the sugars present
in whole fruit and vegetables, which are
sometimes known as intrinsic sugars.
These sugars are encapsulated by a plant
cell wall. They tend to be digested more
slowly and take longer to enter the blood
stream than free sugars"
I believe the initial blood glucose response to fruit juice is the same as that to the fruit itself, or a pulp/puree of the fruit.
